Weather is playing hide and seek these days hot, pleasant, raining in a sequence though at times feels good but with small kids at home it isn't a good combination at all for mummies.
With one toddler and one school goer there is always a fair chance to bring the virus at home.I love to stick with my old home remedies which mom used to do for us.Atleast you don't have to worry for medicines.
We all are so familiar with old tried and tested herbal remedies using ginger, black pepper, tulsi(basil), honey, cloves. Other day I gave it to my little girl, once she took it but next time she just don't want to open her mouth.
So thought of giving it in a different way and searched a little bit on internet !
Ingredients
Sugar-1 cup
Water-1/2 cup
Lemon Juice- 2 tbsp
Cloves/ Black pepper- 1 1/2 tbsp(crushed into powder)
Honey-2 tbsp
Ginger juice-2 tbsp
Tulsi(basil) leaves- 5-6
Grounded sugar(powdered)
Method
In a pan take sugar, water and let them boil for 10-15 minutes, keep stirring them.
Add tulsi leaves, lemon juice, cloves/black pepper powder to it.
Cook on low flame as sugar will start to crystallize and it will be bitter if burnt.
After 20-25 minutes when it is almost reduced and slightly brownish in colour turn off the flame.
Add honey to it and stir it nicely.
Let it cool down and check for consistency. It should be thick.
In a tray put the parchment paper and coat it with powdered sugar.
Carefully drop this mixture like the pic below.
After a minute or so sprinkle more powdered sugar and remove the candy from the sheet.
You can store it like this only in a box. I have just rolled them in my hand like a candy so that kids can take it easily.
Candy will be bit sticky so store them in the refrigerator.
